Best of 2007

I guess it is time for another "best of list"!

Best Album: Fall EP- Jon Foreman; Singularity- Mae; Life In Cartoon Motion- Mika; Wincing The Night Away- The Shins; Cigarettes and Gasoline- Emerson Hart; Afterwords-Collective Soul; Echos, Silence, Patience, and Grace- Foo Fighters

Best Concert:
Mae at the Avalon was really good. The power was out for the first part of it, and they had to hook up the mics to the tour bus batteries. And of course, the Switchfoot/Relient K concert in Seattle was great.

Best Song:
The Cure For Pain by Jon Foreman; Starlight by Muse (I know that this came out last year, but I have heard it a ton this year); I Wish The Best For You by Emerson Hart; Long Road To Ruin by Foo Fighters

Worst Song:
Umbrella by Rihanna. Or that Tattoo song by the one American Idol chic. And Bubbly by Colbie Caillat

Returning TV Show:
The Office, Psych, The Colbert Report

New TV Show:
Pushing Daisies

Best TV show that didn't get renewed:
Veronica Mars

Best Movie:
August Rush, Hairspray, Stardust

Worst Movie:
License to Wed. As much as I love Mandy Moore and John Krasinski, this movie was really bad. I almost walked out of the theatre, but I kept waiting for it to get better.

Guilty Pleasure:
The Disney Channel, The Twilight Series, Gossip Girl

Technically wouldn't it be "my favorite concert of the year," or "my favorite album"? There's not a snowball's chance in anywhere that Mae or Switchfoot put on a better show than the Arcade Fire with LCD Soundsystem or Bishop Allen with John Vanderslice.

But kudos on writing a new post. Pictures would be awesome though.

Being that this is my blog, I assume that "best" would imply that it is my opinion. These are my favorites and I can say they are the best if I want to. So there. Just remember McSomethingkins- music is subjective. Just as you are entitled to your opinion, so are the rest of us silly monkey:).

Too much effort on the pics. And music IS subjective, but just becuase you assume something, doesn't mean someone else assumes the same thing. That too is subjective. I simply meant that there is a lot of music out there not listened to by you that may be better by both our standards.
